CHALLENGE
Create a new brand identity for the electronic hardware industry. Introduce a brand new line of smoke detectors from a start up company to a marketplace already saturated with product. Position Probe's Smoke Alarm as a brand leader in smoke detection technology.

SOLUTION
• New name and logo created to identify them as a scientific technology company.
• Transparent clam shell package with color-coded inserts to the display's feature-and-benefit bullets and models.developed so consumer sees exactly what's being offered. Consumer instantly see what they are buying, where to place it, why it works and how to install it. Also package can hang or stand up alone on retail shelves.
• Modular assembly free P.O.P display was designed to give dealers a choice of merchandising combinations that meet their in-store needs.
RESULTS
Two nationwide hardware stores and one in Canada captured immediately. Probe Smoke Alarms tied for top market share of household smoke detection. Both package and point-of-purchase designs received prestigious hardware and home center industry awards.
